Japan Withdrawal

I miss Japan so freaking bad.  A friend that I met at KGU posted some pictures of Hirakatashi train station (eki) and Tsutaya…So close to tears, it wasn’t even funny.  No joke.

I wish I could have stayed for a year. :<

Some advice for future students, do not miss out ANY opportunities.  Take all the pictures, even if you think you look stupid doing it, just do it.  Take every chance you get to go places and do activities that the school offers.  In the Fall they have a yukata fitting and bon dance activity (I posted the videos for that)…just do freaking everything.

Sorry this kind of a random post.  Just emotional tonight and really missing Japan.

So I didn’t want these to disappear.  I made these in my “spare” time while in Japan.  Mainly to entice my friends to go to Shinsaibashi with me, lol (Shinsaibashi has a Mexican restaurant called “El Pancho”, go visit it if you need a Mexi fix! Shinsaibashi was also my favorite place to play UFO Catchers. I was addicted, haha) That was the purpose of the first and second one, at least.  Then it just became fun putting Mexican food with Japanese pictures, LOL  Also, the last one had meaning between KD and I because we learned about Ukiyo-e in our pop media class :3

Enjoy! LOL

himaykoller asked: こにちは!私はエミーです。秋で日本に行きます。じゃ、I was wondering how much Japanese do you need to know to get by? I'm going to be studying at International Christian University in Tokyo in the fall for 4 months and I'm super nervous and excited. I've taken 2 years of college level Japanese. Should I be okay then once I get there? ありがとうございます!

Hi there! :D

2 years of college classes? You will be completely fine!  You’ll be better off than I was!  I went with only a year’s worth!  And since you’ll be in Tokyo, there will be English everywhere.  The most difficult/nerve wracking thing for me was transportation.  Public transport was totally new to me and having to know the kanji for places and stops was a little anxiety inducing for me.  BUT!  Make lots of new Japanese friends who can show you around and explore!  You’ll be fine! :]

I plan on putting up more videos after my semester ends.  Videos like what to expect and things to bring for Fall semester in Japan!

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask and I’ll help as best I can!

Okay, I lied.  Here’s some video from Tokyo.  Our hotel room at Sakura Hotel in Ikebukuro.  I recommend it if you’re with friends and all you’re doing is sleeping and keeping your luggage in there.  I wouldn’t want to spend a long period of time there however.  Our guide, KD’s friend Kazu, said this wasn’t the best part of town and the area seemed kind of sketch.  I didn’t think it was THAT sketch, but…lol  I think it’s fine :P

FINALLY THE TOKYO VIDEO, OMG…BUT WAIT WHERE’S THE TOKYO?!?!?!?

We were so busy and having so much fun, I forgot to take video…yeahhh…

Thanksgiving 2012…Let’s all be thankful for…SUSHI!  And getting lost…Fun times with Lauren and KD :D

Also from the Halloween Costume Contest…All I can gather from this is that this is some crazy Japanese version of The Expendables? XD  It is pure Japanese crazy.

SEXY POWER RANGERS, BABY!!!

This was from KGU’s Halloween contest.  The contest was, by far, one of the best highlights of my experience on campus.  It was awesome.  This was the fan favorite…It’s just…wonderful, LOL  I have more skits/costumes I want to share from the contest, but I only have this one and another on YT right now.  I’ll work on getting some more of them edited and up soon ;]

My suitemate, Mayu, had a friend attending a fashion school and we were invited to a fashion show!  It was really neat!  The clothes, of course, were unique (especially the first set).  It’s a long video…If you wait around enough, they start playing “Call Me Maybe” and I start laughing.  We couldn’t escape that song in Japan.  It was everywhere, haha

Feeding stray cats! :D
